Basel Münster above the Old Town at golden hour

Basel · Switzerland · By introduction

Arriving is one thing. Feeling at home is another.

Family Office Lite for the life that begins once the boxes are unpacked: discreet guidance, a personally vetted local network, and one familiar contact, for a deliberately small number of families who want Basel to feel like home, not merely an address.

The person behind this

A trusted contact,
not a platform.

Ella Missuk — Basel Family Concierge

I am Ella Missuk, born and raised in the Basel region and the person behind this company.

I speak five languages, have worked across three continents and hold a higher degree in tourism. Having spent my life between cultures, I understand what truly matters when building a life somewhere new: making good decisions, having the right people around you and feeling at home.

Basel is my home. I know the city, its systems and its people, and I have built a trusted network across the areas that shape everyday life here.

My role is simple: to save you time and make life in Basel easier. I bring local knowledge, trusted relationships and practical support together, so you spend less time searching, organising and figuring things out yourself.

I bring that support personally to every family I work with, with discretion, care and good judgement.

I work with a maximum of six families at a time, ensuring every client has my direct attention and a genuinely personal service.

You have one trusted person in Basel. And I take care of the rest.

The first years

When the move
is done,
the real arrival
begins.

A quiet Münsterplatz at autumn light

Your relocation package ends on a Friday. By Monday, the questions begin.

Which school will actually suit your child, not just the one with the highest ranking. How the Swiss health insurance system works, and what it costs to choose wrong. Whom to call when the heating fails on a Sunday and German is your fourth language.

These are not logistical questions. They are the small decisions that quietly determine whether your family truly feels at home here, or simply lives here.

No relocation agency was built to answer these questions. No search engine can replace a trusted person who knows both Basel and your family. That is precisely what BFC is.

Family
Office Lite.

For your everyday life in Basel.

Basel Family Concierge fills the gap that opens after the relocation agency leaves: the gap between having moved to Basel and being at home in Basel.

We are the trusted local advisor international families used to inherit from a long-established neighbour or an old family friend. Today, when most expats arrive without that, we are that: one constant point of contact who listens, assesses the situation, and introduces your family to the right doctor, the right school, the right tradesperson, quietly and without delay.

Whether the need is medical, legal, educational, domestic, or simply navigating Swiss bureaucracy: there is someone in the network for it. What your family experiences is not a list of services. It is the steady feeling that someone reliable is already one call ahead.

We are not

We are

A relocation agency

Family Office Lite for a small clientele

A team that does everything itself

One advisor, connected to those who do

What makes the difference

Why families choose BFC
over everything else.

01

Personally chosen. For your family specifically.

Every provider in the network is personally known to us and held to one standard: would we confidently send our own family there. Recommendations are matched to your family's specific situation, not pulled from a directory.

02

A network that took twenty years to build.

150+ personally vetted providers across 12 categories: paediatricians who answer their phone, school liaisons who know when a place opens, tradespeople who arrive on time. Built over twenty years, so your family starts with a network already in place.

03

Five languages. One contact. Nothing lost.

We speak German, Swiss German, English, French, Spanish, and Hebrew, fluently, not adequately. You will never need to simplify what you are trying to say, and nuance is what turns a good introduction into the right one.

04

Deliberately small. Intentionally present.

BFC works with a maximum of six families at any one time: not a policy, but the only way to offer real attention. No call centre, no ticketing system, one person who knows your family by name.

The quiet advantage

A network that

The value of Basel Family Concierge goes beyond recommendations. It comes from knowing exactly what international families need to feel at home in Basel, and where to find it.

Over years in Basel, we have built a carefully vetted network across schooling, healthcare, legal advice, and daily life, each introduction matched specifically to your family's situation.

Finding a provider is easy. Finding the right person for your family is something else entirely.

Services

Two ways to
work together.
Both are personal.

Some families arrive in Basel and need a trusted presence from the first week. Others have found their feet and want that presence sustained. The Settlement covers the first six months. The Residency covers the entire year.

Good questions

The questions
we are most
often asked.

What is Family Office Lite?

The discreet, relationship-based support a family office provides, scaled to what a family actually needs day to day. Curation, coordination, introductions; no asset management, no operational tasks.

What is the difference between BFC and a relocation agency?

A relocation agency moves you here. We are what comes next. Once your work permit is processed and your apartment is signed, the questions that decide whether your family thrives or simply copes are the ones we answer.

What happens if a service provider you introduce makes a mistake?

Every contract is signed directly between your family and the service provider. We introduce and coordinate; we never become a party to those agreements. This protects your family legally and keeps the relationship between you and the provider direct and clear.

How do you choose which providers to recommend?

Every provider is personally known to us. The standard is simple: would we send our own family there. Providers are chosen for reliability, communication, and their track record with international families specifically. The network is updated when a provider no longer meets that standard.

What are the engagement terms?

BFC offers two engagements: The Settlement, a six-month retainer, and The Residency, a twelve-month retainer. You may pay monthly or in full at the start, whichever suits your family. There are no hidden fees and no obligation to renew.

What if I have been in Basel for years already?

The Residency is designed for exactly that: families who have already settled and want a single trusted point of contact for the things that matter as life continues — schools, a change of address, the next transition.

How do you protect our privacy?

Discretion is the default. Every engagement is governed by an NDA. We do not publish testimonials with names. We do not share your information with the network without your explicit permission for each introduction.

Is there a waitlist?

Sometimes. We work with a deliberately small number of families. When we are full, we say so honestly and either offer a date or an alternative.
